A note on "Miss Lips" below (my baby, not Angie)

I don't know if you can really see it in the picture below on previous blog (but if you can't let me know and I will try to post a bigger pic) but our sweet Hulali has TWO giddy giddys (spelling?) at the front smack in the middle of her head. We have had some great, usually laughter filled discussions about how cute it is right now when she doesn't have much hair and you can see the swirls but how she's going to HATE IT when she gets to "that" age when what her hair does really matters. We are anticipating the wangy ways her hair/bangs/whatever will go this way or that but not all in the same direction...poor child doesn't know what she's in for! To top if off I think she has ANOTHER one towards the back. How does that happen? We all know what two mean, but what about THREE?????????? I bet it's a sign of intelligence!

Angelina ain't got NOTHING on ME!

People pay MONEY for lips like these. I am almost confident that Ms. Jolie pays money to plump her lips up a bit more than they already are. But check out this collagen-less set of lips on MY precious baby. Watch out baby Shiloh. We all know lips like these are a hot commodity. I mean, after all, Angie (we are personal friends so I call her Angie) got Brad Pitt. All you movie producers out there, I AM HER AGENT (but don't tell her parents...there's a bigger cut in there for you if you don't). By the way, any potential suitors should have a rather large dowry.

what's the cutest thing about this pic?

Okay, I don't know what's funnier about this picture. . . the fact that Hulali's daddy can sleep perfectly still with a newborn on his chest with no fear of either of them rolling over (and isn't she so cute with her little sleeper sack thingee on?) OR that there's an Oprah Magazine (the latest version) right there that probably put him in the mood for a little nappie. Reading can be so taxing! I should send this picture to Oprah and maybe I can finally get on her show!!! Oprah magazine. for all ages. male or female.

She found something!

When Hulali was born, and had her first feeding, ala boobie, the nurses were so amazed at how well she latched on. To quote the head nurse on duty that first day, "How well a baby nurses is a sign of intelligence and your baby is an excellent nurser!" End quote. Then just a couple of days later, I had the stroke of luck to have my camera ready when she smiled a big one. Sure enough. After I emailed it out to the masses, an email came back to me that read, "Babies who smile during early early infancy have more than average intelligence. I would normally rest my case there. But then, what does my precious little honey bunny do? She finds her thumb at the ripe old age of 12 days. SHE FINDS HER THUMB!!! YES!! She beat her Aunty Keeks by 4 weeks 2 days! That's my girl! (But don't tell her dad. He thinks she's HIS girl. But she's mine. All mine)

chubs

This is the latest picture I received just this morning. What a chubs!!! And so cute! I'm sure when she's in her 40s and chubs it won't be quite as cute but for now we will enjoy it. Mother's milk can do wonders!

mother and daughter

I am already feeling sorry for all of my grandchildren who follow...as it is inevitable that the sheer number of photos chronicling their lives will diminish with each addition...it is a sad fact of birth order life. So for now I will relish in the beauty of each picture, mostly to my own eyes. So know that I appreciate your attentiveness to the blogs.

I'm a --Puna now!

The good news: I am now, officially, a kupuna. Yes. I know it's hard to believe. I can hardly believe it myself, but I do have 3 children in their child bearing years so, really, IT'S ABOUT TIME! Now that the moment is here, I think I was born for this...grandparenthood. So, everyone (drumroll, please). I would like to introduce you to:

Hulali Kamilimilianamanu Tide Carreiro
